Early Life and Family
Alicia Menéndez, the daughter of United States Senator Bob Menéndez and Jane Jacobsen, grew up in Union City, New Jersey.
Her father, Bob Menéndez, is a first-generation American of Cuban ancestry. Her mother, Jane Jacobsen, is a teacher. Alicia Menéndez has two siblings, including a sister named Melissa. She graduated from New York University in 1998 with a degree in journalism and communications.
Career
After graduating from college, Alicia Menéndez worked as a reporter for several news organizations, including The Miami Herald and The New York Times. In 2006, she joined MSNBC as a political analyst. She has also hosted a number of shows on MSNBC, including "Up with David Gura" and "The Rachel Maddow Show." In 2019, she launched her own show on MSNBC, "Alicia Menéndez Tonight.
